Privacy Policy
Fetchland works locally without an account. Camera recognition stays on your device. If you sign in and subscribe to optional cloud sync, the collection data described below is also stored on our Hetzner server so you can use it on your other devices and the web.
What the camera sees
Fetchland uses the camera to recognize the cards you point it at. Frames are processed on the device and immediately discarded. No photo or video is uploaded, stored on a server, or shared with anyone. The card-recognition model and the entire card database ship inside the app, so recognition works with no internet connection at all.
What the app stores
Your collection — the cards you file, their condition, prices, and containers — is stored in the app's private storage on your device. Without cloud sync, this collection is not transmitted to our server. Deleting the app removes its local copy; device backups are managed by your operating system.
Optional cloud accounts and subscriptions
When you use cloud sync, we store your sign-in provider's account identifier, a Fetchland account identifier, hashed session credentials, subscription product and transaction identifiers, expiry and revocation status, and your synced data: collection entries and acquisition history, binder names, decks, events and rounds, card notes, current game state, and supported preferences. We do not store your provider password or payment card details. Apple handles in-app purchases. Apple sign-in revocation tokens are encrypted on our server.
Apple, Google, or Facebook processes the sign-in you choose under its own privacy policy. Our hosting provider is Hetzner in Germany. Requests expose your network address to the hosting infrastructure; short-lived in-memory rate limits use it to protect sign-in. Authentication and collection data are kept separate from the anonymous usage reports described below.
The web app stores a local copy and pending edits in your browser's IndexedDB, and uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie. Signing out removes the browser copy after pending changes have been synced or exported. Card artwork is loaded from Scryfall, which receives those image requests. Scanning images are never included in cloud sync.
Export, retention and deletion
You can export cloud data and delete your cloud account from the account screen, including after a subscription expires. Expiry stops cloud sync without deleting your local collection. Cloud data remains until you delete the account. Deletion removes active cloud records and sessions; access-restricted database backups expire as new daily backups replace a rolling set of 30 backups. Do not include sensitive personal information about other people in event notes.
Deleting your cloud account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage renewal in your Apple Account subscription settings. Contact us below for help accessing, correcting, exporting, or deleting your information.
Anonymous usage data
To understand which features matter, Fetchland occasionally reports a small amount of anonymous usage data: rough, bucketed counts of app use. These reports carry no identifiers of any kind — no account, no device ID, and no stored IP address — so they are not linked to your cloud account. Cloud sync is a separate service and is not included in these anonymous reports.
What the app does not do
- No account is required for the local iPhone features.
- No crash reporting and no third-party analytics.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
Links to card marketplaces
If you choose to look a card up on an external marketplace (such as TCGplayer, Cardmarket, Card Kingdom, or LigaMagic), Fetchland opens that site in your browser. From that point the marketplace's own privacy policy applies. Fetchland sends nothing beyond the card name in the search link you tapped.
Prices and card data
Card names, rules text, and price estimates come from a database that ships inside the app (sourced from publicly available Scryfall data). Price updates download from our server as a plain file — the request says nothing about you or your collection. Full-resolution card images load from Scryfall when you view a card.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Fetchland ever changes any of the above, this page and the app's App Store listing will be updated before that version ships.
